Weekend in Dallas

This weekend was wonderful. I flew into Dallas on Friday night and got back to Little Rock late last night. I have missed Nick something awful. I'm so glad God made husbands because living by myself does absolutely nothing for me. It's lonely and there is no one to talk to, laugh with, etc.

Anyway, we had a great time in Dallas. We discovered that studying at Barnes & Noble is quite a pleasant experience, especially since Starbucks is right there to provide brain food!! It stays pretty quiet and it's a nice change from being at Nick's company apartment.

I also took advantage of being in Texas by having my hair done at Visible Changes. I know, I know, way to worry about the important things in life! However, in my own defense, ever since we moved to Arkansas I have been unable to find decent hairdressers who are worth the prices they charge. So to me, a well-done cut and color are rare treats.

Nick did give me a lovely souvenier from this weekend ... a purple, fat lip! We were wrestling and, as usual, someone got hurt. It just happened to be me this time. There is actually a bruise!! Fortunately, lipstick covers it :) Poor Nick ... he felt horrible and was apologizing profusely. We finally decided that we're almost even since I've given him two bloody noses in our past WWF matches! He felt much better once we came to this conclusion. :)

Updates All Around!

First, let’s start with school. I received my first grade (100%) in my Psychology class today and I’m thrilled. We are plugging away into week three and still feeling fairly enthusiastic. Although I have to admit, I still hate math. It is the most frustrating, tedious subject in the universe with science following a close second. Thank goodness Nick is gifted in math ‘cuz he watches over my shoulder and points out my errors when I can’t figure it out!

Nick is going to be in Dallas for three weeks. YUCK. He leaves Sunday and I’m not excited about it at all. He isn’t either, fortunately! My sole consolation is that it’s only three weeks and he’ll never have to go again. That is the bright side.

It rained yesterday! After a month of blistering hot weather we finally got some relief. The all-knowing weather channel has predicted rain for the remainder of the week and I have to say, I’m rather glad. It’s cooling off a bit and the dark, stormy weather makes if feel more like fall. Fall…I’m stunned at how quickly this year has flown by. Crazy.

I believe those are all the updates I have at the moment.

San Francisco Trip

San Francisco is an awesome city! We went to Chinatown, the Palace of the Fine Arts, Fort Point, Saucalito and Muir Woods with Gary and Bonita. Nick and I explored Union Square, which is where all the shopping is located, on our own one day. The city has such a great atmosphere and the weather is definitely different from what I was expecting. It was never hot. Everyone wore jeans, sweaters...you know, warm stuff! Anyway, the pictures describe the city better than I can. Enjoy them.

Nick and I are at the top of Fort Point under the Golden Gate Bridge. The wind was strong and COLD! Brrrrrr!

1st Day in San Francisco

We had a busy first day. We went to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. We had lunch at a delicious little place on the Pier with a fabulous view of the Bay. We then went to Fort Point and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was SO COLD!! The wind was whipping around, the water was super choppy and it totally didn't feel like August! After that, we found the Painted Ladies, a row of seven restored Victorian homes. They were neat. I think maybe the best part of the day was dinner...we go to eat at IN-N-OUT BURGER! It was sooo yummy. It was a busy first day and everyone is tired.

Leavin' On A Jet Plane!!

We finally get to leave for San Francisco tonight! After two cancellations in a six month period I'm ready to finally be there.

I'm also excited because I got to reconnect with an old friend last night. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I was one in hers. We haven't been in touch for about two years so it was great to catch each other up on all that has been going on in our lives.

Nothing else major is going on...I'll have more posts and pictures of San Francisco after this weekend! YAY!
